Robert Tepper est né à BAYONNE dans le New Jersey (USA). Il a commencé sa carrière sur la côte est des USA et a joué dans plusieurs groupes. Son plus grand succès fut de Co-d'écrire « Into The Night» avec Benny Mardones (top 10 singles USA).

Il collabora sur deux bandes originales de films avec Sylvester Stallone (Rocky 4 et Cobra). Ces titres figurent sur son premier album (voir photo) "No Easy Way Out "(1986). Il signera ensuite un second album "Modern Madness" en 1988. Il tente ensuite de s'associer avec Scotti Brothers dans la production musicale. L'association n'a pas atteint toutes ses espèrances, alors, il reprend sa liberté. Après une traversée du désert où il continue à écrire tout en se remettant de ses blessures morales, il sort enfin son troisième album "No rest for the Wounded Heat" en 1996.
En 1997, Tepper préparait un prochain album, mais il semble que la maison de production 'MTM (qui avait produit son 3ème album), n'était pas préssée de sortir son quatrième opus.

Depuis, peu de nouvelles, hormis une collaboration avec en 2001 avec Chris Korblein sur l'album "When You're Not Here" avec une interpretation vocale sur le titre "I Was Looking At You". En 2002, on parlait d'une éventuelle colaboration avec Miranda James, toujours dans le but de sortir son quatrième album... Depuis, il participe à différents projets musicaux que ce soit pour l'écriture ou la production.
